About Phoenix Reisen
The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they started cruising the oceans with the charter of the ship Maxim Gorkiy. Starting as a pure ocean shipping company, Phoenix Reisen expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. The four well-known ocean liners are now joined by more than 30 river ships as well as a few smaller ships for exceptional destinations. The shipping company is still in family hands and attaches great importance to a friendly and pleasant atmosphere aboard their ships. Language on board of all ships is German.
On the M/S Princess Isabella you will experience a classic river cruise in a tasteful ambience, with comfortable cabins and fine dining. On four passenger decks and with a length of about 125 m, the ship can accommodate up to 170 passengers. The spacious and tastefully furnished lounge areas invite you to linger on board. In addition to the panoramic restaurant, a spacious viewing lounge with bar and dance floor, the library with reading corner and a fitness room and the sundeck offer more space and ample leisure facilities.
Life on Board
As on all Phoenix ships, the atmosphere on board the M/S Princess Isabella is cozy and informal with a classic touch. The dress code on board is casual. At the traditional captain's dinner a more elegant wardrobe is expected, but evening wear is not needed here either. Regional events, live music and light entertainment make your trip an all-round successful river experience. Board language is German, currency is Euro. Girocard as well as VISA and MasterCard are also accepted.
The comfortable and elegantly furnished outside cabins aboard the M/S Princess Isabella are partly equipped with large panoramic windows that can be opened to a French balcony (Orion Deck). On the Saturn deck there are large, on the Neptundeck smaller windows that can not be opened on both decks. The twin plus cabins on the Saturn deck are conveniently half a deck above the other cabins. From 2018 these will also be equipped with a French balcony. The cabins have shower/WC (suites with bath/WC), hair dryer, individually controlled air conditioning, (suites with minibar and Nespresso coffee machine), satellite TV, radio, safe, telephone, small daily newspaper and 230 V AC.
Food and Beverages
On board the M/S Princess Isabella you can enjoy a rich breakfast buffet, multi-course lunches and dinners, afternoon coffees and midnight snacks. Fine European cuisine is served on board. Included house wines, draft beer, soft drinks such as coke, lemonade, mineral water, juices and coffee/tea are available daily from 08: 00-24: 00. The traditional captain's reception offered on many trips as well as the captain's dinner with festive menu complete the culinary offer.
Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation
On board a selection of books, board and card games is available. Regular dance evenings with live music are offered in the viewing lounge with bar and dance floor. For quiet moments on board, you can relax on the sundeck and enjoy the passing river landscape of the Danube or retire to the library with a good book. For more active guests, the on-board fitness room offers the opportunity to exercise and keep fit while you are on vacation.
Through a variety of shore excursions, you have the opportunity to get to know the country and it’s people along the route. The excursion program is adapted to the length of stay of the ship and is accompanied by qualified tour guides. The excursions are usually in German language. The shore excursions can be booked directly on board or partly in advance online at the shipping company. Payment is on board. At some cruises a variety of shore excursions is already included.
If you want to explore the Danube region by boat, with great emphasis on comfort and fine cuisine, you are just right on board the M/S Princess Isabella.
