About Phoenix Reisen
The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they started cruising the oceans with the charter of the ship Maxim Gorkiy. Starting as a pure ocean shipping company, Phoenix Reisen expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. The four well-known ocean liners are now joined by more than 30 river ships as well as a few smaller ships for exceptional destinations. The shipping company is still in family hands and attaches great importance to a friendly and pleasant atmosphere aboard their ships. Language on board of all ships is German.
The M/S Lavrienkov belongs to the type of upper middle class ships and was completely renovated in 2015/16. The spacious cabin layout and the many suites with balconies make traveling through Russia's rivers and seascape on board the M/S Lavrienkov an unforgettable experience. On five decks and with a length of almost 130 m, the ship can accommodate up to 182 passengers. The panoramic restaurant and bar as well as the spacious sundeck invite you to linger and enjoy the passing river landscape. Hairdressing, sauna and massage (for a fee) offer possibilities for deep relaxation on board.
Life on Board
The cozy and familiar atmosphere of the Phoenix ships can also be experienced aboard the M/S Lavrienkov. The dress code on board is casual. At the traditional captain's dinner a more elegant wardrobe is expected, but evening wear is not needed here either. Regional events, live music and light entertainment on board provide a perfect setting for your river cruise. On-board languages are German and Russian, accepted currencies are Euro and Rubles as well as VISA and MasterCard.
The 13 m² outdoor cabins have large windows that can be opened. Junior suites (22 m²) and suites (46 m²) have private balconies. The equipment in all cabins consists of shower/WC, air conditioning/heating, satellite TV with flat screen/radio channel, mini fridge (only in the suites), safe, small daily newspaper, hair dryer and electricity 220 V AC. The double beds can be separated on request (not in the suites).
Food and Beverages
Enjoy a rich breakfast buffet as well as delicious lunches and dinners. The good Russian cuisine with regional specialties is bourgeois and meets the standard of typical comfort hotels. The well experienced kitchen and service team will spoil you with all the amenities that the kitchen has to offer. In addition, on many voyages there is the traditional captain's reception and the captain's dinner with a festive menu.
Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation
During your cruise, regular dance nights with live music await you. A selection of books, board and card games is at your disposal. Regional events, such as folklore performances, language courses or lectures about the country and its people do not leave boredom on board. For relaxation, you will find a hairdresser and a sauna on board or you can let yourself be pampered in the massage area (for a fee).
Through a variety of shore excursions, you have the opportunity to get to know the country and it’s people along the route. The excursion program is adapted to the length of stay of the ship and is accompanied by qualified tour guides. The excursions are usually in German language. The shore excursions can be booked directly on board or partly in advance online at the shipping company. Payment is on board. At some cruises a variety of shore excursions is already included.
If you want to enjoy Russia's waterways in a comfortable way, you are in the right place aboard the M/S Lavrienkov.
