About Phoenix Reisen
The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they started cruising the oceans with the charter of the ship Maxim Gorkiy. Starting as a pure ocean shipping company, Phoenix Reisen expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. The four well-known ocean liners are now joined by more than 30 river ships as well as a few smaller ships for exceptional destinations. The shipping company is still in family hands and attaches great importance to a friendly and pleasant atmosphere aboard their ships. Language on board of all ships is German.
The M/S Dnepr Princess was built in the mid-1970s in a series of identical sister ships in Germany and is regularly renovated since then. The large sundeck and the surrounding promenade invite you to relax and enjoy the fascinating river landscape. With a length of 116 meters and 5 passenger decks, the M/S Dnepr Princess can accommodate up to 260 passengers. 2 panoramic restaurants, music lounge, observation parlor and bars provide a variety of entertainment on board. For relaxation on board, a hairdresser and beauty salon.
Life on Board
As on all Phoenix ships, the atmosphere on board the M/S Dnepr Princess is cozy and casual. The dress code on board is casual. At the traditional captain's dinner a more elegant wardrobe is expected, but evening wear is not needed here either. Regional events, live music and light entertainment will make your trip through Ukraine a special experience. Board language is German and Ukrainian. Currency is hryvnia and euro.
The twin cabins aboard the ship are between 9-11 m² in size. The junior suites offer sufficient space on 15-18 m², while single cabins are about 8 m² in size. All cabins are outside cabins, with mostly large windows that can be opened. Only cabins on the lower deck have portholes that can not be opened. Basic equipment on all cabins is: shower/WC, air conditioning/heating, satellite TV with flat screen/radio channel (junior suites), hair dryer, small daily newspaper, on-board radio/music channel, 230 V AC current.
Food and Beverages
Look forward to a rich breakfast buffet as well as delicious lunches and dinners. The kitchen on board the M/S Denpr Princess offers typical Ukrainian cuisine, on the level of typical comfort hotels. On days of the river there are additional afternoon coffee / tea and pastries. The well experienced kitchen and service team will spoil you with all the amenities the kitchen has to offer.
Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation
During most of the the trips, dancing evenings with live music are offered. A selection of books, board and card games is at your disposal. Regional events, such as folklore performances, language courses or lectures about the country and its people do not leave boredom on board. The barber and beauty salon invite you to relax or you can enjoy the beauty of the Ukrainian river landscapes from the sundeck.
Through a variety of shore excursions, you have the opportunity to get to know the country and it’s people along the route. The excursion program is adapted to the length of stay of the ship and is accompanied by qualified tour guides. The excursions are usually in German language. The shore excursions can be booked directly on board or partly in advance online at the shipping company. Payment is on board. At some cruises a variety of shore excursions are included.
